The East Bay apartment house sale market continues to improve,

with rents up 3 to 9 percent over the past year … our apartment house division reported that 59 properties sold in the 1st quarter 2012 as compared with 29 properties during this same time period in 2011. For retail shopping centers and stores, in the East Bay there are submarkets where multiple tenants are chasing the same space, i.e. well-anchored centers in the Tri-Valley, while out in East Contra Costa County it is reversed, with multiple landlords chasing the same tenant.
