according to Site Selection (July 2012), and has three of the top 10 spots for Top Sustainable Metros (San Francisco-Oakland at #1, Los Angeles-Long Beach at #5, and San Jose-Sunnyvale at #9) … and in this same publication California was cited as the worst state for business … ” According to the results of the latest “Best and Worst States for Business” survey by Chief Executive Magazine, released in May, Texas is first in the nation. California is last.” Later on in this same article they mention the wages associated with the job classifications for the new 2.8 million square foot Apple campus and folks in the Midwest reading this might fall off their chair … construction laborer $44.18/hour, electrician $78.48/hour and $81.14/hour for a sheet metal worker. Of course, this might be a bargain compared to New York or London … Site Selection (July 2012)
